The Illinois gunman who murdered seven people on July 4 had an obsession with the numbers four and seven, which police are investigating as they try to ascertain his motive.
Robert Crimo, 21, had the numbers tattooed onto his right cheek, and painted onto the door of his silver Acuna.
He clearly ‘had an affinity’ for the figures, said Christopher Covelli, spokesman for Lake County major crime task force.
Crimo staged his attack on the date that matched the letters.
