France Coach could not hide his excitement and has praised his players on their final qualification, in the Qatar World Cup final, the second in a row after winning the title in 2018.
The France side who defeated the Moroccan team a splendid 2-0 win will now face the Argentine counterpart whom they faced four years ago.
Didier Deschamps, coach of the French national team, could not hide his satisfaction at qualifying for another World Cup final. The reigning champions will fight to defend the title against Argentina.
“There is emotion and pride. Obviously today was an important match, but there will be one last one. We’ve been together for a month, it’s never easy but here it is, it’s been happiness so far and my players have been rewarded, as has the whole group,” he said in an initial statement on TF1.
The French coach considered “splendid” the Argentine Lionel Messi, leader of the Argentina that will face them in the final of the World Cup in Qatar, and that he considered in better conditions than the one they met four years ago in the round of 16.
“He has been splendid since the start of the competition. Four years ago it was different. He started in a different place than we imagined and ended up as a striker. Now you have a striker and he has a lot of freedom, he plays a lot of balls, he looks very fit,” he analyzed after defeating Morocco in the semifinals.
“He is the best in the world or one of the best. We have to work to limit his influence as much as possible, just as they will do the same with some of my players. But this is not the same Argentina we faced four years ago,” he said.
