Police have launched a probe after five children were injured when they were hit by a school bus while waiting to go home after classes.
The children, believed to be aged 11 to 16, were struck by the bus outside a secondary school in Powys, Wales and rushed to hospital.
Villagers were horrified by the crash – and suspected the school bus driver may have blacked out at the wheel while on the school run.
Police are investigating how the school bus and ‘a number of young pedestrians’ were involved in the crash about 3.25pm.
The male bus driver was also taken to hospital after the collision near the village’s high school.
There were no passengers on board at the time of the collision in School Lane. The road was later closed with diversions in place.
The Wales Air Ambulance was called to airlift children to hospital but no details were revealed of their condition.
