Festus Keyamo, the minister of aviation and aerospace development, has ordered all foreign carriers to stop using Muritala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) as of October 1, 2023.
He claimed that this became necessary to make place for airport-wide repair work.
The minister made this disclosure while touring the international airports in Lagos with Mr. Kabir Yusuf Mohammed from the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN.
The minister instructed the airlines and businesses operating in the airport to relocate to the new terminal, MMIA terminal 2, which was built by the Chinese enterprise, while speaking on the sidelines of the airport tour.
“All airlines should vacate the MMIA before the 1st of October, 2023 and relocate to MMIA terminal two, Keyamo said.
