Kanye West, a popular American singer and fashion designer, has had his account restored by Elon Musk, the owner of X, the social networking platform formerly known as Twitter.
The artist won’t be able to monetize his account, and no advertising will appear next to his tweets, the business said in a statement to the Wall Street Journal on Saturday.
X now recognises West’s account, which has 31.5 million followers, as an official business account by giving it a golden verification tick.
The rapper’s account was suspended in December 2022 as a result of his repeated anti-Semitic statements breaking the platform’s policies against inciting violence.
However, it’s unclear if the rapper submitted an appeal for his reinstatement before it was done.
