Former aviation minister, Senator Stella Oduah has been accused by Nigeria’s anti-corruption agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), of eight counts of document falsification and conspiracy to commit a felony, among other offences.
On June 26, 2023, the Federal Government of Nigeria, acting through the EFCC, brought charges against the former lawmaker who served as the senatorial representative for the Anambra North Senatorial District from 2015 to 2023.
Ochugwu Ogbeh W.A. Esq. and Ibrahim Mohammed Esq. of the Legal and Prosecution Department of the EFCC filed the lawsuit in Benin City, the capital of Edo State, with the Federal Government of Nigeria as the Complainant and Oduah as the sole Defendant, at the Federal High Court, Abuja Judicial Division.
Some of the counts include an allegation from National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) that Stella didn’t complete the mandatory one-year service in 1982, and trying to get paid as a minister and senator at the same time in 2023.
