Agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Sokoto State Command, have detained 23 suspected Yahoo guys on Bafarawa Estate in the capital city of Sokoto.
According to a source, a raid was also conducted in the Sokoto neighbourhood of Kalkalawa after “intelligence-driven observations along with intensive close monitoring” revealed that the young guys were living above their means and had no legitimate source of income.
According to the source, this prompted commission agents to detain them while investigations were ongoing.
A red Toyota Corolla 2009, a white Toyota Corolla 2015, 16 different laptops, a generator, 30 different phones, and two MTN routers were among the things seized from the accused group.
They will face charges after the investigation was over, the source said.
