for the Atiku/Okowa campaign team in Rivers State, Rhino Owhorkire has been shot by assailants suspected of being political thugs.
In Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area, on Wednesday night, Owhorkire was allegedly shot while going home.
Few months earlier Owhorkire was allegedly kidnapped and coerced into renouncing his support for Atiku. In a video that went viral in November, Owhorkire was seen in a cave-like place denying support for Atiku under pressure.
In the aforementioned video, he was surrounded by individuals who were guarding his words while he was plainly terrified. The State Police Commissioner, Okon Effion, has ordered an investigation into the incident’s circumstances and assured that those responsible would be apprehended.
Thursday morning, a source told correspondence that the intruders fired at Owhorkire’s vehicle tires before firing through the windscreen. The source who requested anonymity out of fear of being exposed reported that Owhorkire was in pain and receiving treatment at an unnamed medical facility.
