Tottenham Hotspur was stunned by Aston Villa in their 17th league game as they were beaten 2-0.
The Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur side were in action yesterday in their current campaign at home against Unai Emery led Aston Villa team at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The host in the game were stunned by the visitor who outshined and outsmarted them with a brilliant displays and as such emerged as the better side by winning the game convincingly with a two goals to nil victory.
The game in the first half was such a thrilling and keenly contested encounter between the two sides with nothing separating them going into the half time break which ended goalless draw before the visitor turned the fortune around in the second half.
Emiliano Buendia gave the visitor the lead just five minutes into the second 45 minutes as he got the deadlock broken in the 50th minute to make it one nil before Douglas Luiz got the lead doubled in the 73rd minute, to end the game two goals to nil at full time.
After the game, Antonio Conte could not hold his breath as he expressed his frustration on his team’s performance as well as the ongoing project in the team which was seen as a rebuilding process.
“I want to be honest and very clear. I have said this to the club. Tottenham fans deserve the best.
Maybe to stay in 5th is the best. Maybe 6th, 7th, 5th or 4th is the best”.
He will then be hoping to help the team get back to winning ways in their next game as they keep their pursuit going in the competition.
