While the fight still continue, the Taliban has issued a general amnesty for all government officials, urging them to return to work with “full confidence”.
“A general amnesty has been declared for all… so you should start your routine life with full confidence,” This is according a Taliban statement.
This comes amid a background of fear in Afghanistan, as those that worked for government or Western-backed organisations – those who worked as translators for US troops for example – fear repercussion.
