The Enugu State Forest Guard has foiled a planned kidnapping by a suspected cross-state criminal syndicate allegedly travelling from Nasarawa State with the assistance of local informants.
The operation reportedly followed the detection of suspicious movements by state surveillance cameras, which alerted nearby security teams to the gang’s activities.
According to preliminary security reports, the armed suspects had travelled from Nasarawa State to Enugu to carry out a targeted abd¥ction, allegedly working with local accomplices who provided information and assistance on the ground.
However, surveillance cameras captured the gang’s movements and tactical positioning, enabling Forest Guard operatives to mobilise and intercept them before they could abduct their intended victims.
