The family of late singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has secured approval from the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, for a fresh and comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding his d+ath.
The family’s lawyer, Oladayo Ogungbe, disclosed this in a statement dated September 29, 2026, clarifying that the police re-investigation is ongoing despite the recent dismissal of a suit by the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Ogungbe said the Aloba family submitted its petition to the IGP on April 14, 2026, and that it was received at the Force Headquarters in Abuja on May 7.
According to the lawyer, the petition raised concerns about inconsistencies in the earlier investigation and requested a comprehensive forensic reconstruction of the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s d+ath.
