Jorge Messi, the father of Argentine football superstar Lionel Messi, has d+ed at the age of 68 at a hospital in Rosario, Argentina, following an illness.

Jorge was widely regarded as a central figure in his son’s remarkable football journey, supporting and guiding Messi from his early days as a young player until he rose to become one of the greatest footballers in history.

Beyond his role as a father, Jorge also represented Messi and handled negotiations with football clubs and commercial partners throughout his career. He played a key role in managing the business side of his son’s career and building the professional structure surrounding the Argentine star.

In recent years, Jorge’s health had reportedly deteriorated, with Messi previously alluding to going through a difficult personal period while competing at the World Cup.
