Nigerian man sentenced to 7 years imprisonment for attempted m8rder of his ex-wife in UK

Osarenkhoe Atutie previously pled guilty to the violent offence and was sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

The incident happened on Tuesday, 11 November, 2025 on Duke Street, Leith, where he hugged his daughter before repeatedly st@bbing his ex.

The High Court in Edinburgh head that Victory Atutie, 30, sustained 12 injuries including scarring to her face and a collapsed lung.

Lord Cubie said it had been a “sustained attack” on a “defenceless victim” and also banned Atutie, from contacting her for life.

The couple had married in Nigeria about four years before the attack and moved to London where the child was born.
