Six relatives of Boko Haram members have surrendered to troops of Operation HADIN KAI in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State after fleeing a te+rrorist hideout in the Mandara Mountains.
The individuals turned themselves in during two separate incidents on July 24, 2026, to troops of C Company, 192 Battalion (Mechanised), stationed in Gwoza.
The first group, which arrived at about 7:45 a.m., consisted of 55-year-old Samaila Vuringwa, alongside Falmata Samaila, 13, and Walida Samaila, 10. Preliminary findings indicated they escaped from the Wa’a t+rrorist enclave before making their way to the military base.
Security personnel recovered primary and secondary school certificates as well as ₦460,000 from the group.
