Adire Fabric To Replace Khaki As New NYSC Uniform, Minister Confirms

The Federal Government has confirmed that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) will replace its traditional khaki uniform with Adire fabric as part of sweeping reforms approved for the scheme.

Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, announced the development, explaining that the move is aimed at promoting locally made textiles, supporting Nigerian manufacturers, and ensuring government spending benefits the country’s economy.

The reform is one of several changes planned for the NYSC, alongside a skills-based To deployment system that will increasingly post corps members according to their academic qualifications and professional backgrounds.
