Troops Repel Fulani Bandits Attack on Plateau Community, One Civilian Killed

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have repelled an attack by suspected armed Fulani bandits on Jebbu Miango community in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Military sources said the incident occurred at about 12:10 a.m. on June 29 when troops of Sector 3 responded to reports of sporadic gunfire by suspected armed militias in the community.

According to the sources, the troops swiftly mobilised to the area and engaged the attackers, forcing them to flee into the surrounding highlands.

A search of the community conducted after the attackers retreated led to the discovery of the body of a 74-year-old resident, identified as Mr Baba Den, who was believed to have been killed during the attack.
