Remi Tinubu Calls For End To Harmful Practices Against Widows

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has called for stronger protection and support for widows, urging governments and communities to end harmful traditional practices that continue to affect many women.

Speaking on International Widows’ Day, she said widows deserve to live free from discrimination, poverty and social exclusion. She also called for laws that protect their rights and dignity.

Mrs Tinubu urged governments and stakeholders to provide widows with education, opportunities and economic support, saying empowered widows are better able to care for their families and contribute to society.
