The Anambra State Police Command has taken a landlord into custody for questioning following the suspected k+lling of a 23-year-old nursing student in Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area of the state.
The Command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, saying the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has ordered an accelerated investigation into the tragic incident.
According to the statement, the case has been transferred from the Nnobi Divisional Police Headquarters to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Awka for a comprehensive and discreet probe.
The victim’s lifeless body was reportedly discovered on June 14, 2026, within the compound where she lived as a tenant. Police officers who visited the scene observed a deep cut on her thigh, other signs of v+olence on her body, and bl++d stains around the area, raising strong suspicions of foul play.
