Fuel Subsidy Removal Saved Nigeria From Bankruptcy — President Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has defended his administration’s economic reforms, stating that the removal of fuel subsidy helped save Nigeria from financial collapse and has set the country on the path to economic recovery.

Speaking during a meeting with governors and party stakeholders, Tinubu acknowledged the difficulties that accompanied the reforms, describing the period as “very, very challenging” and “tough.” He praised those who stood by him during the process, saying many party members remained loyal despite facing criticism, litigation, and accusations.

“It was very, very challenging. It was tough, but those who are in the party with me, some kept faith and instead of dodging the b¥llets, I took it,” the President said.
