Troops Neutralise 2 ISWAP Terrorists in Ambush Operation in Yobe

Troops of 27 Task Force Brigade Garrison, in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters, have neutralised two suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists during an ambush operation in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.

This is contained in a Special Situation Report issued by Headquarters Sector 2, Operation HADIN KAI, under Operation Desert Sanity V.

Military sources said the operation was conducted at about 4:00 p.m. on May 27 following credible intelligence on the movement of suspected terrorists around Kasaicia village, off the Damaturu–Buni Yadi road.

According to the sources, the troops successfully engaged the terrorists during the ambush operation, resulting in the neutralisation of 2 insurgents.

The sources disclosed that troops also recovered two AK-47 rifles and empty magazines from the scene.

They added that the general security situation within the area remained fluid, while troops’ morale and fighting efficiency remained high.
