I Am Real, Tough And Can Be Troublesome — Actress Funke Akindele Says As She Opens On Friendship

In a candid interview with Morayo, actress Funke Akindele reflected on her approach to friendship and relationships, describing herself as “real, tough and sometimes troublesome.”

During the discussion, Morayo noted Funke’s intense personality, saying, “You came across to us as somebody that is too extreme. You love hard; if you love somebody you can do anything, and if somebody annoys you, you can totally cut the person off like a hundred percent. What experience in your life produced that Funke that we don’t know?”

Responding thoughtfully, Funke admitted her tendencies are not always a source of pride. She explained, “I must say I’m not proud of that; there must be a balance. I thank God for someone like Uzee Usman in my life. He sat me down and said, ‘You’re a leader; you have to accept people as they are. Not every door you should close.’”

She further described herself, saying, “I’m an extremist. I love hard, I’m real, I’m not perfect, I can be troublesome, I’m tough. Human relationships for me are very important, and I’m learning every day.”

Funke also shared that her mother often advises her to remain calm, reminding her that “everybody can’t be smart like me.” She emphasized that, despite her strong personality, her mental health remains a priority as she grows older, saying she is learning to take care of herself no matter the circumstances.
