American rap star Nicki Minaj has threatened legal action against Nigerian social media personality Dr Penking over allegations of cyberbullying and copyright infringement.
The dispute began after the influencer shared an old video of the rapper on X and accompanied it with a caption suggesting that the music star should step away from her career.
In the post, Dr Penking wrote, “Nicki Minaj should understand that she has gotten old and retire,” a comment that quickly drew attention online.
Minaj soon responded directly to the post, questioning whether the influencer had the legal right to upload the video, which she said had been recorded several years ago. She also accused him of using the clip as a way to target and harass her on social media.
“Do you have permission to use this video that I filmed years ago to harras me on this or any platform? You’ve just been added to the suit,” the rapper wrote.
Her response suggested that the influencer has now been included in an ongoing legal case involving the alleged unauthorised use of her content and online harassment.
