Nigeria female footballer Ihotu John Rebecca kidnapped along Benin Expressway, ₦20m ransom demanded

The family of Nigerian footballer, Ihotu John Rebecca has appealed for public support following her abduction along the Benin Expressway.
 


Rebecca, who features for Pacesetter Queens FC in the Nigeria Women Football League Premiership, was reportedly kidnapped on Friday, February 27, while travelling home along the Benin motorway.

According to emerging reports, her abductors have demanded a ransom of ₦20 million for her release.
 


Rebecca is known for competing at the top tier of women’s domestic football in Nigeria, making her abduction particularly distressing within the sporting community.
 


Her family has called on football stakeholders, club executives, sponsors, government officials, sports administrators and well-meaning Nigerians to assist in securing her safe return.
