Eight-months pregnant woman allegedly assaulted by her husband in Benue

A man has allegedly assaulted his eight-months pregnant wife in Benue State.

A family member said the incident occurred on Thursday, February 12, 2026.

Human rights activist, Sughnen who disclosed this in a Facebook post on Friday, said he will follow up on the case once the victim gives her consent.

“This one wound my heart. I woke up with below message from one of my followers. That a husband to the woman in photo assaulted her yesterday and she is eight (8) months pregnant,” he wrote

“Well, I’m waiting for the victim to give her consent that I should follow up the case. I see the man in trouble already if legally followed up.

“I ‘ve many domestic violence related cases in my inbox but my past experiences handling domestic violence won’t allow me spend my money on such cases again.

“Any case involving husband and wife, use your wisdom, be careful and prayerful handling them.

“For now, I wait for her consent
