Nigerian brand strategist and founder of the Dikedi Smile Foundation, Sharon Dikedi, has announced an expansion of her foundation’s community outreach efforts through a new initiative titled Make A Worker Smile.
The outreach program aims to recognize and support local laborers, service providers, and essential workers whose daily contributions sustain community operations. Scheduled for Oct. 31, 2026, the inaugural event targets providing meals and gift packages to 300 workers.
Prior to this expansion, the Dikedi Smile Foundation primarily focused on youth-centric welfare through its Make A Child Smile project. According to foundation records, past campaigns have provided aid to over 300 children and four care homes across six states in Nigeria.
Dikedi, whose professional background includes event coordination and organizational operations, stated that the broader outreach reflects an effort to extend humanitarian support across various demographics.
“For me, making a difference does not always have to begin with something grand,” Dikedi said. “Sometimes, it starts with noticing people, recognising their needs, and choosing to do something thoughtful. I believe we all have something we can contribute, whether it is our time, resources, skills, or simply the willingness to show up.”
The foundation’s updated roadmap outlines subsequent initiatives aimed at other demographics, including Make A Mum Smile, Make A Dad Smile, and Make A Family Smile.
Organizers are currently seeking public involvement for the upcoming October campaign, accepting financial contributions, donated goods, and volunteer assistance from individuals, local businesses, and community organizations.
