Professor Cater Dike Nnamdi Umeoduagu, the newly appointed substantive Vice Chancellor of Tansian University, Oba, Anambra State, has died barely 24 hours after assuming office.
Professor Umeoduagu was formally sworn in as the substantive Vice Chancellor of the university on Friday, October 2, 2026. He reportedly fell ill later that night.
Sadly, he passed away around midnight on Saturday, October 3, 2026, less than 24 hours after taking the oath of office.
The late professor was also a former lawmaker who represented Aguata Constituency 1 in the Anambra State House of Assembly.
His sudden de@th has left the university community, political associates, colleagues, friends and family in shock, coming just a day after he assumed leadership of the institution.
