A Spartanburg County mother is facing two counts of attempted murder after deputies say she attacked her two young children with a knife and a blunt object.
Investigators say the two children, ages 3 and 6, suffered approximately 50 stab wounds between them. The sheriff’s office said Gosnell allegedly attacked both children with a kitchen knife and a blunt object.
“There’s no preparation that our deputies can have to see something like that,” Lieutenant Graham McLellan said. “There’s no preparation our investigators can have to try and have conversations with a six-year-old and a three-year-old that have just went through that.”
Deputies responded to a home in the 1400 block of Bud Arthur Bridge Road shortly after 2:30 p.m. Saturday for a welfare check.
