The Queen, Olori Atuwatse III wife of the Olu of Warri has opened up about her marriage, personal style and the role she plays in creating her husband’s fashion looks.
During an interview, she was asked if she would accept polygamy if her husband, His Majesty, who previously said he was not open to it, changed his mind.
Olori Atuwatse III quickly dismissed the possibility, saying, “First of all, His Majesty no go fit change im mind about polygamy, make we just settle dat one for dia.”
She added humorously, “Me alone, one me, I be like three women, so I dey alright for am.”
Speaking about her dressing, the Queen explained why she is often seen covering her hair with a turban. She said her fashion choices are entirely hers and that the head covering has a special meaning to her.
“Most pipo dey ask me say why I dey cover my hair. My turban na my crown, na so I dey see am,” she said.
According to her, she wears the turban whenever she is in Queen mode as a way of showing respect for the office she occupies.
