Update On Death Of Artisanal Miners In Custody, Niger State Government Constitutes a Committee Of Inquiry

Niger State Government has constituted a committee of inquiry to investigate the cause of death of thirty – seven suspected artisanal miners under the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Minna, the State Capital.

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago who stated this after a closed door meeting with some Stakeholders and Security chiefs declared three days mourning for the Victims.

The Governor while commiserating with the families of the deceased appealed for calm, disclosing that Government and other security agencies are on the matter.

He also suspends the planned All Progressives Congress Political Rally scheduled for this weekend in Minna.
