ICPC sacks officer for granting El-Rufai’s wife ‘unauthorised’ access

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has sacked one of its security officers identified as Daniel Stephen.

The dismissed officer, according to TheCable, was accused of helping Aichatou Asabe El-Rufai, one of the wives of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, to gain unauthorised access to him in custody.

Stephen, who was attached to the commission’s internal security team, was allegedly caught on CCTV assisting Asabe to enter the ICPC premises on July 5, 2026, outside the approved visitor access procedure
