Troops Rescue Injured Farmer After Attack by Suspected Herders in Plateau

Troops of Sector 5 under Operation Enduring Peace have rescued a man who sustained head injuries after he was allegedly attacked by suspected Fulani herders in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 4:20 p.m. on Aug. 6 along the Hottom–Sha road in Daffo District, following a distress call reporting an attack on a resident identified as Mr. Malan Malo.

The sources said troops responded swiftly to the location and found the victim with injuries to his head, while the attackers fled on sighting the advancing security personnel.

The injured victim was immediately evacuated by the troops to a cottage hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment.

Security sources said efforts are underway to track down and arrest the fleeing suspects, adding that troops have intensified patrols in the area to prevent further attacks and reassure residents.
