Troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have arrested a soldier and four other suspected drug peddlers during a raid on a notorious drug hideout in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was carried out at about 5:00 p.m. on July 30 at the Congo-Russia area following intelligence on illicit drug activities in the location.
The sources said troops of Sector 1 OPEP raided the hideout and arrested five suspects identified as Lance Corporal Luka Yakubu of 82 Battalion, Abdulkarim Abubakar, Adam Musa, John Isah, and Charles Ibrahim.
During the operation, the troops recovered quantities of substances suspected to be marijuana and other illicit drugs, which have been taken into custody as exhibits pending forensic examination.
