Nigeria’s Super Falcons defeat Egypt 6–2 to reach WAFCON quarter-finals

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after an impressive 6-2 victory over Egypt.

The nine-time African champions delivered a commanding attacking performance, netting six goals to book their place in the knockout stage of the tournament.

Captain Asisat Oshoala gave Nigeria the lead from the penalty spot in first-half stoppage time before Gift Monday doubled the advantage in the 55th minute.
