27-yr-old Nigerian boy bags 60 months in U.S. jail term over s+xtortion scheme linked to victim’s d£ath

A 27-year-old Nigerian, Afeez Olatunji Adewale, has been sentenced to five years in prison in the United States for his role in a s+xtortion scheme linked to the d£ath of a young man in Pennsylvania.

United States District Judge Joel H. Slomsky handed down the sentence on July 24, sentencing Adewale to 60 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release after he pleaded guilty to money laundering conspiracy and wire fra¥d.

Adewale was arrested in Nigeria on August 17, 2023, during an FBI operation targeting alleged s+x¥al extortionists who preyed on victims in the U.S. He was extradited to America on February 13, 2026, with the support of Nigerian authorities, including the Attorney General of the Federation, the Federal Ministry of Justice and the EFCC, before pleading guilty in April.
