Spain beat France 2-0, qualify for first final since 2010

European champions Spain have booked their place in the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after defeating France 2-0 in Tuesday’s semi-final.

De La Fuente’s men took the lead in the first half through Mikel Oyarzabal, who calmly converted a penalty before Pedro Porro doubled the advantage after the break to seal Spain’s victory.

Despite entering the match as favourites and being regarded by many as the tournament’s best team, France were unable to break down Spain’s disciplined defence, which has been one of the strongest at the World Cup.
