Troops Rescue Three Kidnap Victims After Three Months in Captivity in Zamfara

Troops of 1 Brigade under Counter-Terrorism Operation 6 have rescued three kidnap victims who escaped from a terrorist enclave after spending about three months in captivity in Zamfara State.

Security sources disclosed that the victims were rescued at about 8:45 a.m. on June 22 by troops deployed at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Bagega in Anka Local Government Area.

The sources said the victims managed to escape from their captors’ hideout before making contact with the troops.

According to the sources, the troops immediately secured the victims and provided initial assistance before evacuating them for medical attention.

The sources added that the victims were undergoing medical evaluation and care following their ordeal in captivity.

They noted that troops remained committed to sustaining operations aimed at dismantling terrorist enclaves and securing the release of abducted persons across Zamfara and other parts of the North-West.
