Prison Break: Manhunt Launched as Nigerian Inmate Escapes Prison Van in London

Police in London have launched an urgent manhunt after a 25-year-old inmate, Temitope Segun, escaped from a prison transport van on Monday evening.

Segun was last seen on Woolwich High Street at about 6:40 p.m., according to the Metropolitan Police.

Footage circulating on social media appears to capture the moments after the escape, showing several police vehicles with flashing lights surrounding a prison van near the now-closed Waterfront Leisure Centre.

Authorities say Segun has known links to the south London areas of Woolwich, Plumstead, and Abbey Wood. Detectives have also released his photograph as efforts intensify to locate him.
