Nigeria’s Minister-designate for Power, Olasunkanmi Tegbe, has denied reports claiming he promised to fix the country’s electricity grid within three months, describing the reports as false and misleading.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Adeola Adelabu, Tegbe clarified that he never made such a commitment during his Senate screening on May 6, 2026.

According to the statement, the minister-designate explained that timelines for reforms in the power sector are still being developed and would depend on technical assessments and consultations with stakeholders.
