Court remands man for allegedly r@ping his neighbour’s 11-year-old daughter in Lagos

An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded a 42-year-old man, Howell Imoni, in Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly r@ping his neighbour’s 11-year-old daughter.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Omolara Kushanu, who did not take Imoni’s plea, directed that the case file be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.

Kushanu adjourned the case until May 27 for the DPP’s advice.

The defendant, who resides at No. 2, Bangelu St. off Command, Ipaja, Lagos, is facing a one-count charge of r@pe.

Earlier, the prosecutor, ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 22 at his residence.

Ademigbuji alleged that the defendant lured the girl to a secluded place and had s3xual intercourse with her.
