If your partner cannot share their phone passwords with you, don’t marry them — Pastor Dolapo Lawal

Pastor Dolapo Lawal has stirred conversations online after insisting that couples must embrace full transparency, including access to passwords, before committing to marriage.

In a now-viral message, the clergyman advised singles to test their partner’s openness by asking for unrestricted access to their personal accounts.

“If you want to marry somebody, ask them, ‘Can I know your password to everything that you have?’ If they say ‘no,’ leave them,” he said emphatically. “If they say ‘no,’ leave them o! Let them be going their own way o.”

Lawal argued that any relationship lacking transparency cannot be considered a true marriage, questioning the logic behind physical vulnerability without emotional and financial openness.

“Marriage where there is no transparency is not, so you can see my n@kedness, but you are not open with me? So what are we doing? That’s not marriage now,” he stated.
