FORMER Nigeria striker Michael Eneramo has died after collapsing on the pitch aged just 40.

The ex-Turkish league forward retired in 2018 but is said to have passed away whilst playing locally.

It is written that attempts were made to revive him on the field before he was taken to hospital, where he tragically died.

The Nigerian Football Federation General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi is quoted as saying: “This is devastating.

“I am short of words at this moment.

“I can only pray that God will grant him eternal rest and also grant his loved ones and the Nigeria football family the fortitude to bear the loss.”
