Troops arrest suspects, recover motorcycles in Kogi security operation

Troops have arrested two suspected criminals and recovered items during a coordinated offensive operation in Kabba Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Security sources said the operation was conducted at about 6:00 a.m. on April 15, 2026, by troops of 12 Brigade in collaboration with the Police and local vigilantes.

According to the sources, the troops raided suspected hideouts in Kakuma Ileteju/Origa and Ijumu communities following intelligence on criminal activities in the area.

The sources said no direct contact was made with armed elements during the operation.

However, one suspect was arrested at Kakuma, where troops also recovered two motorcycles believed to be linked to criminal operations.

Similarly, another suspect was apprehended at Ijumu, with two chainsaw machines recovered from the location.

All suspects and recovered items have been handed over to the Police for further investigation and necessary action.
