Shock has gripped parts of DeKalb County in the United States after a 26-year-old Nigerian man was arrested over a series of br¥tal early-morning att@cks that left two women d+ad and another victim fighting for his life.
Authorities identified the suspect as Olaolukitan Adon-Abel, who was taken into custody in Troup County after investigators tracked a rental vehicle he was driving using license plate reader technology.
Police say the att@cks, described as “completely random,” began shortly after midnight on Monday and occurred at multiple locations.
The first incident happened around 12:50 a.m. outside a Checkers restaurant on Wesley Chapel Road, where officers found a woman suffering multiple g¥nsh+t wo¥nds.
She was taken to hospital but later d+ed. Around 2 a.m., a second victim, a 49-year-old unhoused man, was sh+t multiple times while sleeping outside a Kroger shopping area. He was rushed to hospital and remains in critical condition.
The final att@ck occurred around 6:50 a.m. on Battle Forest Drive, where 40-year-old Lauren Bullis was att@cked while walking her dog. Police said she was sh+t and st@bbed multiple times, and witnesses reported what appeared to be an attempted s+x¥al a§§ault before the suspect fled.
A neighbour recalled the chaotic scene, saying, “I looked across the street. It was a lady laying down and a man over her, my instinct was to try to help her.”
Investigators later tracked the suspect’s silver Volkswagen Jetta and carried out a felony traffic stop, where he complied with commands and was arrested without resistance.
Adon-Abel faces two counts of malice m¥rder, aggravated a§§ault, and firearm-related charges. Authorities say the motive remains unknown as investigations continue.
