BBNaija star Phyna has stirred conversations online following her candid remarks about cosmetic surgery, particularly Brazilian B¥tt Lift (BBL), during a recent livestream.
Reacting to the criticism often directed at reality TV stars who alter their bodies after gaining fame, Phyna argued that financial capability not morality is the real reason behind people’s opinions on such procedures. According to her, many critics would make the same choices if they had the money.
“You always say once someone wins Big Brother or goes on the show, they start doing things to their body. My dear, if you had money, do you know what you would do? Imagine you had ₦20 million you’re not even using as a woman, you would go and have surgery. Don’t let anybody deceive you.
It’s because you are broke. Even me, I admit it’s because of money. It’s nothing else, I swear to God, I won’t lie to you.
Right now, your thinking is clouded. You’re wondering, ‘Why are they doing this?’ My sister, it’s the money you don’t have that’s why you’re criticizing it. Don’t worry, if money comes your way, you will do it too.”
Her statement has since generated mixed reactions on social media, with some agreeing that financial freedom influences lifestyle choices, while others maintain that personal values and health considerations play a bigger role than money.
