Ex-Acting AGF, Chukwunyere, Jailed 72 Years Over N868.4m Fr@ud

The former Acting Accountant-General of the Federation, Chukwunyere Anamekwe Nwabuoku, has been sentenced to 72 years in prison after being convicted of money laundering involving N868.46 million.

The prosecution was handled by the EFCC at the Federal High Court in Abuja, where the court found that Nwabuoku illegally diverted public funds during his tenure.

According to the judgment, the court emphasized the severity of the offense, highlighting the breach of public trust and the scale of the financial loss. Nwabuoku’s sentence serves as a stern warning to public officials against misappropriation of government funds.
