Bandits k!ll abducted Zamfara lecturer, release his wife, daughter and 12 other victims

Fourteen victims abducted in December 2025, including six family members of Inspector Hussaini Abubakar of Maru Police Division, have been released by their captors.

The victims were released at about 1:00 p.m. on Feb. 26, 2026. 

Unfortunately, two of the victims, identified as Bashir Sani Marafa, aged 45, and Halliru Kabiru, aged 50, were k!lled while in captivity, security analyst Zagazola Makama reported. 

Malami Bashir, a lecturer, was kidnapped along with his wife and daughter during the attack. 

His wife and daughter are among those released after ransom payment.
