Hoodlums abduct woman and toddler in Gombe

The Gombe State Police Command has launched a manhunt following the abduction of a woman and her two-year-old daughter in Funakaye Local Government Area.

Sources said the incident was reported on Sunday at about 8:30 a.m. at Ribadu Police Outstation by Alhaji Umaru of Iyola Village, Ribadu Ward.

According to the sourcss, the victims, Inna Wuro Alhaji Umaru, 42, and her daughter, Goggo Alhaji Umaru, 2 were taken by six armed hoodlums who stormed their residence at about 2:45 a.m. and fled to an unknown location.

“The scene was visited immediately, and Divisional Patrol Team, Anti-Kidnapping Squad, Vigilante Group and Hunters were mobilized. Efforts are being intensified to rescue the victims and arrest the perpetrators,” the command said.

Investigation into the incident has commenced.
