A heartbroken mother, Heather Ella Rise, has shared a deeply emotional moment as she prepares her 11-year-old daughter, Kali, for burial today.
In a touching social media post that has moved many Nigerians and people around the world, Heather revealed her decision to personally dress Kali and style her hair one final time before laying her to rest.
“I’ve decided that I am going to dress Kali and do her hair, myself, a process that I’ve decided to do alone. I was the 1st person to touch her when she came into the world, and I’ll be the last one to touch her before I lower her into the ground. Pray for me,” she wrote.
Kali tragically passed away on December 8, 2025, after suffering a severe asthma attack. The young girl, described as a vibrant sixth-grader, had battled severe asthma for years, including a life-threatening episode in 2019 where both her lungs collapsed.
According to reports circulating online, Kali was under the care of her father’s girlfriend at the time of the fatal attack, and emergency services were not called immediately — a delay that Heather believes could have saved her daughter’s life.
