Boat Mishap Claims 25 Lives in Nguru LGA in Yobe 

 A boat accident in Garin Garbi, Nguru Local Government Area of Yobe State, has claimed the lives of at least 25 persons, while 14 others were rescued alive, eyewitnesses said.

The incident, which occurred on Friday, involved a boat conveying passengers when it capsized, leading to multiple casualties.

Confirming the development, the Chairman of Nguru Local Government Area, Hon. Muhd M. Ahmed Mairami, visited the scene and was visibly emotional as he sympathised with families of the victims.

Residents said the deceased included men and women, while search and rescue operations were ongoing to recover bodies of passengers still missing.

Local sources added that security operatives and community volunteers had been mobilised to intensify the search in the affected area.

I’m Hon. Mairami expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and assured the community of the local government’s support to the affected families, while calling for prayers and calm as rescue efforts continue.
